The first step to lose weight safely is for you to take less energy in and burn more energy off. Food is plentiful, portions are larger, and there are more processed foods, so we're eating a lot more energy - and more calories than our parents did. It's not easy to take a stand against bad food choices or to find time to exercise. It's not easy to resist our animal instinct to eat whenever we see food.

Make the effort to cut out the processed dense foods, sugary drinks and get active to shed the pounds and lose weight safely. When you drive by any of those fast food restaurants that promise quick, processed and high calorie foods, just keep driving and you will gain some headway. You will increase your ability to lose weight safely. When you buy gas, stay at the pump outside and don't go inside to see all the temptations. Instead stick with your goal to lose weight safely.

The second step unfortunately for many of us is weight training and it isn't just for bulked up body builders. Resistance training increases muscle mass, boosting metabolism and burning more calories. Also, weight training increases bone density and helps firm and improve the tone of the body.
