If you have a business website, then you should be building an email list of people interested in your product or service.
It's easy. It's simple. It's inexpensive. And you're missing out on the easiest money to be made online if you're not building a list and promoting to them on a regular basis.
The first step in email list building is to join a service that will manage your lists, send email to them for you on an automated sequential basis, and allow you to send a broadcast message to your list whenever you want. Generally, the type of service provider you're looking for would be what's called
an "autoresponder" service.
The second step in starting to use email marketing is to invite people to join your list whenever they visit your website. This means that you'll put an opt-in form on each page. Your autoresponder service will have an automated wizard to help you set up the form you will use to let people join your list.
You'll give people a compelling reason to join your list - like offering them a free report or a discount coupon. Then, ask them to submit their name and email address in the form and click the submit button. Within a few seconds of them submitting their information, they'll be on your email list and you can contact them as often as you want.
After someone has joined your email list, you can have a series of messages sent to them automatically. You write these messages in advance and insert them into the autoresponder. The emails will be sent to the people on the list in the sequence and time frame you choose. For example, you could have the first message go out immediately after somone joins the list. Then, you could follow up with 7 more messages that are sent every other day over the next 2 weeks. The great part about using this automated system is that you'll do the setup work one time and never have to do any more work no matter how many people join the list.
The fourth step is to send a broadcast email to your list whenever you have something important - and profitable for you - to send them.
You can announce a new product of yours or someone else (using an affiliate link so you get paid). You can send a newsletter with information updates and include ads for you or affiliate links to related products/services. You can promote a teleseminar or webinar featuring you or a guest speaker. It's your email list so you can send them anything you want.
