If you are writing an eBook, you may be tempted to let your work space begin to get cluttered. Even though we may joke about clutter and productivity, the truth is that you can accomplish much more if you are neat and organized. Working from home can mean that you have papers everywhere and can't find what you need. Here are some ways to manage your time, get rid of clutter, and get your eBook written.

1 - Choose one area of your home to set up as your work space. By designating just one place in the house for your writing, you will know that all of your materials and your computer will be in one place. Especially if you live in a two-story house, having everything where you can access it easily will make a huge difference.

2 - Set up a book shelf next to your computer. This way you can easily reach for your papers, books, and other materials. Use file folders to keep everything separate for easy access.

3 - Make a schedule for yourself to work on your eBook. By setting regular work hours you will be more productive and others will respect the time you have designated as work time.

4 - Only check your email three times a day. Checking email is a huge time waster. Also, once you read an email from someone, either respond to it, file it, or delete it. You will double the time you spend on email if you tell yourself you will come back later and deal with it.

5 - Divide your eBook topic into chapters and focus on one chapter at a time. You may need to do some research to write the chapter you are working on, so add that research time to your schedule. Do not go on to another chapter until the current one is completed.

6 - At the end of each work day, clean up and put away any books or papers. Make notes on a notepad next to your computer so that you will be ready to start where you left off the next time you are scheduled to work. The reason for this is that most people who work from home are doing it on a part-time basis. By cleaning up your work area you will not come back to a mess the next time you are scheduled to write.

8 - Treat your eBook writing like a business. The more professional you are in your work habits the more successful you will be on the internet.

Use these suggestions to eliminate clutter from your work area, manage the time you are devoting to writing, and get your eBook written and ready to sell online.
